13%+ interest rates across multiple lending companies on Mintos

For the first time in a long time, loan investments with mid-teen interest rates (in EUR) are being offered on Mintos – with more than €10 million of loan investments added at 13%+ in the past 2 weeks.

Higher interest rates are being offered by multiple lending companies with operations in Europe, Asia, and Africa where demand for borrowing is growing and loan performance is sound. Also, the weighted average interest rate for all new investments (in EUR) on Mintos has increased from 8.6% in January to 9.6% in February and is now 10.6%.

Lending companies offering double-digits

Planet42, a South Africa-based lending company recently launched on Mintos, is currently offering interest rates of up to 16%. According to Planet42’s CEO and Co-founder, Eerik Oja “Planet42 is witnessing unprecedented demand for cars in South Africa. Our very strong margins allow us to scale sustainably even with high funding rates – we’ve borrowed money even at 20%. We are chuffed to offer double-digit rates for secured loans to Mintos investors.”

And Zenka, a Kenya-based lending company, is offering rates of up to 15.5%. “The continuous dynamic growth of the small business sector in Kenya entails the increased demand for short-term financial support. From our perspective, such demand, combined with a favorable business environment and stable geopolitical situation, creates almost unlimited business opportunities.” – Duncun Motanya, CEO of Zenka

Along with its current cashback campaign, Creditstar is offering rates of up to 15%. According to Creditstar’s CFO Sven Silver, “the Group’s lending subsidiaries are offering loans with buyback obligations and higher returns to Mintos investors. Higher investor returns ultimately support us to finance the growth of Creditstar’s increasing and well-performing consumer credit portfolios in our target markets.”

In addition to these, Eleving Group and Mozipo are both offering rates of up to 14%. Plus, LF TECH has rates of up to 13.6%, and both DanaRupiah and ExpressCredit are offering rates of up to 13.5%.
